Are we under-estimating the impact of Mold-related illnesses?

It appears, through recent publications and studies released by the CDC, (U.S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and well as others), that mold-related illnesses are on the rise. In fact, due to this rise articles are asking if we are under-estimating the impact of mold-related illnesses.

Essentially, what expects are pointing to, is that certain mold strains are making their way into areas where they weren’t seen before, (calling them invasive mold strains). This movement has been been attributed to climate changes as a result of higher CO2 levels in our atmosphere. As northern temperatues average out higher on a yearly basis, certain mold strains that weren’t able to live in areas, (such as Canada), are now seeing these types of mold. Further, the average number of people dieing from mold-related illnesses, (or illnesses where mold has been implicated), is on the rise.

Now, this may be a result of demographics, (as the population of our country ages in general), affecting these results however, new strains are appearing, for instance apsergillus latus, a form of mold I’ve discussed here previously, https://mapleleafmold.ca/aspergillus-latu…isease-in-humans/ .
